Nita Marjorie (Creeden) Sunderland, 92, died Thursday morning, Sept. 12, 2019, at Advance Health Care of Aurora, Colo. She was born Feb. 26, 1927, to Martha Henrietta (Dye) and Ellsworth C. Creeden in Sublette.
She married Ralph Hulsey “John” Sunderland on Oct. 5, 1945, in Satanta. Nita worked as a cook in the Sublette and Satanta hospitals for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Susan Sutton of Aurora, Colo.; two sons, Joe Edward Sunderland of Coldwater, Kan., and Rex John Sunderland of Satanta; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janie Deewall of Coldwater, Kan., and Mary Allingham of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, Jim Creeden of Sublette.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Joan Moore and Wanda Creeden; and brothers, Dorsey, Bob, Jack, Ben and Bill Creeden.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sublette Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be at Dudley Township Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Weeks Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Sublette. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
