Troy Eugene Piland, 74, died on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at the St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on Nov. 4, 1944, in Dartmouth, Kan., to Margie Davis.
He worked as a mechanic and co-founder at Piland Auto in Garden City.
He is survived by three children, Darrell Piland of Garden City, Scotty Piland of Ellinwood, Kan., and Terry Piland of Garden City; three step-children, Andy Newsome, Choiseul Orbaugh and Katie Brown, all of Garden City; one brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Pilland of Pahrump, Nev.; dear friend, Dena Crouch of Garden City; three grandchildren; one step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parent; four siblings, Basil Piland, Claudia Biles, Wanda Conway and Gary Piland; and an infant brother.
Funeral services will be held on 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Price and Sons Funeral Home. Open calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Troy Piland Memorial Fund in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, 620 N. Main St. Garden City, KS 67846.
