Yanira Lizeth Ayala, 43, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, at her home in Garden City. She was born Oct. 13, 1975, in Usulutan, El Salvador, to Luis Alonzo Melendez and Maria Adela Martinez.
Yanira was born and raised in El Salvador before moving to the United States in 1993. She married Medalio Humberto Ayala on April 6, 1990, and worked for Walmart as a cashier.
She is survived by her husband; her children, Veronica Regalado and husband Nathaniel of Muleshoe, Texas, and Daniel Ayala, David Ayala, Angel Ayala, Monica Ayala and Adan Ayala of the home; mother, Maria Adela Martinez; and sisters, Marisol Martinez and Vanessa Gutierrez.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luis Alonzo Melendez.
There will be a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Friday and a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, both at the Church of God of The Firstborn, 2909 W. Mary St., Garden City. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. to the vigil on Friday, also at the Church of God of The Firstborn. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
