HUGOTON — Kay Anita Murray, 80, died Friday, July 19, 2019, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart. She was born on Oct. 30, 1938, in Hugo, Colo., to Amos Vincent Youngren Jr. and Katie Mae (Stuart) Youngren.

She married James “Jim” William Murray on Nov. 14, 1961, in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death in 1985.

Kay was raised in Hugo and graduated from Genoa-Hugo High School. She went to college and graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a bachelor’s in fine arts.

Kay is survived by two sons, Jim Murray of Rolla and Vincent Murray of Ness City; a sister, Rayleene Thompson of Hugo; four granddaughters; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday at United Methodist Church in Hugoton followed by burial at Hugoton Cemetery.

Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton. A memorial has been established for the United Methodist Church. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236, Hugoton, KS 67951.
