ULYSSES — James A. “Jim” Kepley, 76, of Ulysses died Monday, June 24, 2019, at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita. He was born Sept. 5, 1942, in Satanta to Edward Bryce and Helen Marjorie (King) Kepley.

Jim, a farmer, graduated from Grant County Rural High School in 1960 before serving in the United States Army. He married Linda Zellers on July 25, 1970, in Newton.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda of their home; daughters, Vicky Leadbetter of Ulysses and Jamie Clodfelter of Seward, Neb.; son, Matthew Kepley of Ulysses; brother, David Kepley of Bernalillo, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karen Kepley; and brother, Marshall Kepley.

Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses. Interment will follow at Golden Cemetery.
