Earlene Ploger, 67, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Pratt Rehabilitation and Residence Center. She was born April 8, 1952, in Cheney to Hoyt and Minella (Leewright) Ferguson. On July 31, 1971, she married Mark Ploger at the First Nazarene Church in Garden City.
In her late elementary school years, Earlene's family moved to Garden City. She graduated from Kansas State University with her bachelor's in elementary education and was a retired school teacher when she passed. She battled muscular dystrophy from the age of 19.
She is survived by her husband, Mark; daughter, Molly Ploger of Pratt; son, Blake Ploger of Lewis; brother, Russell Ferguson of Manito Springs, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Allan and Lowell Ferguson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m., all at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Pratt and the graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Salem Cemetery in Kinsley.
