ULYSSES — Sulema Leal Barron, 87, died May 26, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Ulysses.
She was born Dec. 19, 1931, in Karnes City, Texas, to Pedro and Lupe (Longoria) Leal.
She married Cresencio Escobedo Barron on June 15, 1959, in Brownfield, Texas.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Miranda, of Lubbock, Texas, Abundio Barron, of Hutchinson, and Daniel Vizcaino III, of Midland, Texas; daughters, Dianna Olivas, Maggie Ledesma and Debbie Barron, all of Ulysses, and Susana Barron, of Hutchinson; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cresencio; sister, Balbina Longoria Leal; and son, Cresencio Barron Jr.
Rosary and vigil service will be 7 p.m. Thursday and funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant, Ulysses, KS 67880.
