SYRACUSE — Garland Gould Smith, 57, died May 24, 2019, from injuries from an auto accident near Kendall.

He was born on Sept. 18, 1961, in Syracuse to Lester Dewayne Smith and Wanda Maeann (Gould) Smith.

On Feb. 5, 1982, he married Nellie Marie Peters. They later divorced.

He was a lifetime resident of Syracuse and graduated Syracuse High School in 1980. After that, he worked full time at his parents' oil field contracting business until his untimely passing.

He is survived by his mother; partner, Gayle Lorimer, of Syracuse; daughters, Keara Johnson, of Canon City, Colo., and Shayla O'Connor, of Las Animas, Colo.; brother, Troy Smith, of Wichita; sister, Klarissa Eddy, of Edmond, Okla.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. (MDT) Thursday at the McCoy Auditorium in Syracuse.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. (MDT) Wednesday at the Fellers Funeral Home in Syracuse.
