LAKIN — Elizabeth Louise Burns, 63, died May 20, 2019, in Longview, Texas.
She was born July 16, 1955, in Lakin to Robert Fredrick and Edna (Morrison) Burns.
She lived most of her life in Lakin, attended and graduated from high school in Hereford, Texas, and moved to Jefferson, Texas, in 2016. She was a Certified Medication Aid and enjoyed sewing, knitting, going to the casinos and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Bree Gonzales, of Lakin, Jeri Davis, of Syracuse, and Betty Smith, of Jefferson, Texas; brothers, George Burns, of Lakin, Tom Burns, of Garden City, and Marvin Burns, of Arizona; sister, Nancy Peters, of Ulysses; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Harold Burns, Fredrick Burns, Frank Burns, John Burns and Dan Burns; and sisters Freda Ferrell and Belle Detweiler.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lakin United Methodist Church in Lakin. Burial will follow at the Lakin Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Lakin. The family suggests memorials given to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be given at garnandfuneralhomes.com.
