LAKIN — Grant O. Meyers Jr., 81, died Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at High Plains Retirement Village Assisted Living in Lakin.

He was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Mountainburg, Ark., to Grant O. & Lula Mae (Smith) Meyers.

He attended schools in Beeler and Garden City. He worked at several different jobs in his life, including ranching, construction, helping build both Farmland and IBP Packing plants and worked at both after construction was complete while living in Deerfield and Garden City.

He enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening and especially being with his family activities.

He is survived by four sons, Roy Lee Meyers, of Arkansas City and the Philippines, Grant (Rose) Meyers III, of Holcomb, Gene (Linda) Greer, of Garden City, and Jeff (Kristi) Meyers, of Deerfield; a stepson, Terry Meyers; four brothers, Glenn (Martha) Meyers, of Deerfield, David (Janice) Meyers, of Deerfield, Donald Meyers, of the Philippines, & Dale (Donna) Meyers, of Wisconsin; two sisters, Ida (A.B.) Bolton, of Ulysses, and Martha Langley, of Deerfield; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leland Meyers and Dara Meyers; and four sisters, Anetta Wyrick, Linda Dyson, Mary Meyers and Shirley Meyers.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will follow at Pyramid View Cemetery in Gove County.

Visitation will be 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
