Glenn Franklin Stockham Jr., 85, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at his home in Wichita from Alzheimer’s disease after surgery for a broken hip following a fall.
He was born July 17, 1933, in Hutchinson to Glenn Franklin and Violet Woodrow Miller Stockham.
He married Jean M. Edwards in 1955.
He served in the U.S. Army two years active duty and four years in the reserves, post Korea, from 1955 to 1961.
He married Patricia Anne Rhea on June 8, 1974, in McPherson. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Garden City, where he was president of Business and Professional Planning, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughters, Amy Stockham, Lisa Stockham and Denise Kellams, all of Wichita; sisters, Jereldene Meyerly of Tulsa, Okla., Rosalie Ayers of Nipomo, Calif., Betty Jones of Tulsa, Okla., and Marie Wilbur of Lyons; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Jean; a daughter, Diane Hort; and a brother, James M. Stockham.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Western Kansas, the Finney County Historical Society or the Finney County Humane Society.
