LAKIN — Leland Elmer Meyers, 69, died Sunday, April 28, 2019, in Lamar, Colo.

He was born Dec. 28, 1949, in Garden City to Grant Otho and Lula May (Smith) Meyers.

He graduated from Deerfield High School.

He worked in commercial construction and worked at Carbon Black in Ulysses and farmed and ranched for Lewis and Robert Moore.

He is survived by five brothers, Grant Meyers Jr., of Lakin, Glenn (Martha) Meyers of Deerfield, David (Janice) Meyers of Deerfield, Donald Meyers of The Philippines and Dale (Donna) Meyers of Wisconsin; two sisters, Ida (A.B.) Bolton of Ulysses and Martha Langley of Deerfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Dara, Anette, Linda, Mary and Shirley; and a brother-in-law, Ivan Langley.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial will be at Pyramid View Cemetery in Gove County. The family invites friends and relatives to Historic Lake Scott State Park after the graveside for a potluck luncheon. Please bring your place setting, meat, dish to pass and drinks.
