ELKHART — James "Jim" Earl Merritt, 69, died Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Morton County Care Center, Elkhart.
He was born Aug. 5, 1949, in Elkhart, to Earl Oscar and Florence (Weaver) Merritt. He was a life time resident of Elkhart.
He married Carol Joyce Ward on Nov. 3, 1990, in Elkhart.
He worked for the City of Elkhart for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Merritt of the home; three daughters, Pammy Baldwin of Elkhart, Debbie Williams of Milliken, Colo., and Barbie McCallion of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robson Funeral Home, Hugoton.
