JOHNSON CITY — Fern L. Kistler, 97, of Johnson City, died Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson City.

She was born June 16, 1921, in Lamar, Mo., to Glenn A. and Nellie (Vincent) Wright.

She graduated from Manter High School. She lived in Manter and Ulysses before moving to Johnson City in 2001.

On May 18, 1940, she married Francis W. Kistler in Syracuse. He preceded her in death on April 15, 2000.

She worked a number of years at Big Ben jeans factory in Missouri, and she and Francis operated a laundromat.

Survivors include one brother, Cecil Wright, of Greeley, Colo.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lillian and Betty; and three brothers, Ivan, Paul and Gayle.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson City.
