Glendene Corn, 74, died Sunday, March 24, 2019, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
She was born May 8, 1944, in Atascadero, Calif., to Leland Glen and Lola Belle (Crist) Brown.
As a child, she lived in Washington, Utah, Colorado and Missouri before moving to Garden City to live with her grandparents. She has lived in Garden City since.
She worked most of her life as a waitress and cashier, most recently for many years at Walmart.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Garden City and of T.O.P.S. She enjoyed collecting dolls and angels, taking care of her family, and visiting with people.
On Dec. 1, 1974, she married Glenn Robert Corn, Jr. in Garden City. He survives.
Other survivors include a sister, Linda Rodriquez of Greely, Colorado; two brothers, James and wife Linda Brown of Hooker, Oklahoma, and Arthur and wife Diann Brown of Boise, Idaho; a sister-in-law, Alis Brown of Turpin, Okla.; a stepbrother, Tom and wife Myrna Rush of Arriba, Colo.; three stepsisters, Kathy and husband Mark Schoenthaler of Colorado Springs, Colo., Susan and husband Lowell Gilbert of Grand Junction, Colo., and Linda and husband Bob Thomas of Georgetown, Ky.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, George Rush; and two brothers, Leland Glen Brown and Bill Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
