Sharon Sue Brown, 76, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1942, at Centralia, Ill., to Huston Edwards and Veda B. Edwards Stepp.
She was an administrative assistant at the Larned Correctional Mental Facility and moved back to Garden City after retiring in 2013.
She enjoyed playing cards, spending time at home, catching up with family and friends on the phone and going out to eat with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Brown and wife Lisa of Johnston, Colo.; daughter, Kim Lightner and husband Kyle of Garden City; eight grandchildren, Ashley Chee and husband Ranlett, Alexandra Miller and husband Benjamin, Monica Kline and husband Mat, Marissa Torrez, Damon Torrez, Audrey Bradshaw and husband Drake, Sarah Lightner and Derek Lightner; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eva Frances; brother-in-law, Jesse Riveria; and infant brother, William H. Edwards.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
