DIGHTON — Mary Lou (Weber) Svoboda, 77, of Herington and formerly of Dighton, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at her daughter's home near Bennett, Colo.
She was born Aug. 5, 1941, near Maize to Anthony "Tony" and Pauline (Strunk) Weber.
She and John Svoboda were married June 7, 1962, in Colwich. He died Jan. 14, 2015.
She graduated from Andale High School in 1959. She taught elementary school for 35 years, including three in Tribune and 31 in Healy.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Ralph and Robert Weber.
She is survived by five children, Annette Wilson of Seneca, Jane Benz of Bennett, Cheryl Svoboda of Walla Walla, Wash., Clare Curtis of Panama City, Fla., and Thomas Svoboda of Junction City; three sisters, Virginia Stump of Wichita, Pat Paulsen of Oshkosh, Neb., and Dorothy Williams of Dawsonville, Ga.; two brothers, Charles Weber of Shawnee, and Don Weber of Wichita; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A visitation and rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at the church in Pilsen. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Pilsen.
