MONTEZUMA — Wilbur Lloyd Yost, 88, Montezuma, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2018, at Bethel Home in Montezuma.
He was born on April 1, 1930, in Montezuma to John and Lena Smith Yost.
He grew up in Gray and Haskell counties, attending South Salem and Colusa Schools.
On March 11, 1951, he married Dorothy Wedel in Copeland.
He was a farm laborer and also worked at land leveling and at the Kansas State Experiment Farm near Garden City.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Dennis of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Verle of Norwood, Mo., and Roger of Vanceboro, N.C.; a daughter, Sheryl Smith of Stacyville, Iowa; a brother, Arlin of Montezuma; two sisters, Orreda of Livingston, Calif., and Priscilla Harlow of Satanta; 24 grandchldren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mervin; four brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Salem Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the Salem Mennonite Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Montezuma.
