HOLCOMB — Mervin Edward "Dave" Davis, 59, of Holcomb, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018.
He was born Oct. 2, 1959, in Evanston, Ill., to Elbert and Emma Mills Davis. He graduated from Evanston Township High School.
Mr. Davis served 15 years in the U.S. Army.
On Oct. 31, 2008, he married Cynthia Hankins in Holcomb. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Marcus Davis of Chicago, Nicholas Davis and Dycen Davis, both of El Paso, Texas, and James Hankins of Gallup, N.M.; three daughters, Tiana Finney Shackleford of Temple, Ga., Jenna Hankins Warnke of Ford, and Stephanie Hahn of Garden City; a sister, Wanda Davis of Chicago; a brother, Brian Davis of Oxford, Miss.; and numerous grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation is planned, with a memorial service beginning at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 at Fort Dodge, with full military honors conducted.
