ELKHART — George Albert Ferguson, 92, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart.
He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in rural Sturgis, Oklahoma, to George W. Ferguson and Lenora Olive Fowler Ferguson.
He attended schools in Elkhart.
He married Patricia Mae O’Toole on May 5, 1946. She preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2011.
George farmed for 65 years in Cimarron and Texas counties in Oklahoma. He also worked on many construction projects in the Elkhart area.
He is survived by his children, Roger Ferguson of Tulsa, Carol Lee of Forgan, Oklahoma, Beverley Lee of Keyes, Oklahoma, Tammy Batten of St. John, and Roscoe of Hooker, Oklahoma; three sisters, Ruth Harrington of Farmington, New Mexico, Pearl Turner of Lubbock, Texas, and Linda Taylor of Lubbock; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gillette; and siblings Charlie Ferguson, Glen Ferguson, LeRoy Ferguson, Alice Cooper and Mary Hill.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, Elkhart, with burial immediately following in Elkhart Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart.
