DIGHTON — Pauline G. Sculley, 80, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Lane County Hospital in Dighton.
She was born June 7, 1937, at Beeler to Paul & Mable (Watson) Stull.
She married Richard J. Sculley on March 18, 1956, in Dighton.
She grew up near Beeler and graduated from Beeler High School in 1955. She became a CNA and worked at Lane County Hospital, and after moving to Emporia in 1974, she worked at St Mary’s Hospital. She and her husband owned and operated nursing homes in Emporia and Salina. They returned to Dighton in 2013. In her earlier years, she coached girls softball. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing, but her passion was taking care of the elderly. Later, she enjoyed following her grandchildren’s athletic events.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a daughter, Debra Rathke of Emporia; a son, Rod Sculley of Tyrone, Okla.; a sister, Arlene Birney of Wheatridge, Colo.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beth Lile.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Dighton. Burial will be in Dighton Memorial Cemetery.
