Plymell Elementary School goes to remote learning

Plymell Elementary School will be closed to on-site classes and move to Level 6 Remote Learning, from USD 457’s operational plan, starting on Monday, Nov. 16.

The decision was made due to several positive COVID-19 cases within the school and the temporary lack of available staff necessary to operate classrooms safely and effectively at the school.

The move to Level 6 Remote Learning at the school was done out of an abundance of caution, it was decided by the district to close the elementary school through Nov. 30, pending no further positive COVID-19 cases and district operational levels. The district will have a facilities crew deep clean and disinfect the school while the closure is in effect.

Parents with students in classes of a case were notified by Garden City Public Schools. The Finney County Health Department will follow up with phone calls to the parents of those that need to quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19.

Plymell joins several other schools in the district to make the move to remote learning as a result of the pandemic.
