Location changes for USD 457 meals
Garden City Public Schools USD 457 will continue to provide daily breakfasts and lunches for children 18 and under. These meals will be distributed from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at designated schools and at various times at community locations. Children must be present to pickup the food. Students can also continue to walk to the locations to receive the bagged meals.
There have been some changes made to the locations for distribution of meals after the first week of the program. These changes started on Monday, March 30.
There will be no meals distributed at Charles O. Stones Intermediate Center, Horace Good Middle School, Kenneth Henderson Middle School and Garden City High School.
One of the community locations has changed from Sunshine Trailer Park to First Southern Baptist Church, 2708 N 3rd Street, from 10:15 - 10:45 a.m.
Other locations remain the same.
The meals are delivered curbside at the locations. For the safety of all, do not exit the vehicle. Following current federal guidelines, children must be present in the vehicle to receive a meal. Children may also walk to the locations to receive the meals. These meals will be free to any child age 18 and younger.
The district continues to remind the community that all school facilities, including playground equipment, are closed to the public. After picking up meals, all children and families are asked to honor social distancing and refrain from congregating.
