GCHS students qualify for nationals

Two teams from Garden City High School qualified for Nationals at the State Educators Rising competition at Emporia State University on Feb. 11.


The Educators Rising National Conference and competition will take place June 17-21 in Washington, D.C.


Educators Rising competition is a performance-based competitive event in which teenage, aspiring teachers demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and leadership in education. With a blend of individual and team events, competitions are authentic, engaging opportunities for rising educators to stretch their creativity, commitment, and professionalism.


Sofia Montoya took first place and qualified for Nationals in Children’s Literature: K-3, and Redmond Carter and Megan Allen took second place and qualified for Nationals in Researching Learning Challenged.
