MONTEZUMA - Manford Nichols, age 86, died February 5, 2020 at Bethel Home in Montezuma. He was born on November 7, 1933 in Haskell County, the son of Noah and Francis (Koehn) Nichols. Manford attended school at the Lakeview Country School. He was a longtime farmer. On December 14, 1958, Manford married Deloris Schmidt at Salem Mennonite Church.

Manford is survived by his wife Deloris of Montezuma; three children, Jerry Nichols of Sublette, Cyndy Troyer of Apple Creek, OH, and Melanie Johnson of Sublette; nine siblings, Howard Nichols, Milton Nichols, Valetta Koehn, Lester Nichols, Chester Nichols, Milford Nichols, Wilford Nichols, Clayton Nichols, and Velda Wedel; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Rhonda Nightingale; and a sister, Joyce Nichols.

Funeral service will be held at Salem Mennonite Church, Copeland on February 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on February 8, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Bethel Home in care of the funeral home.
