Garden City — Kevin Timothy Fields, 60, died on Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. He was born on Sept. 22, 1959 in Winfield, Kansas, the son of Donald and Juanita Fields. On Sept. 23, 1978, he married Brenda Allen in Xenia, Ohio.

Tim was ordained as a bi-vocational pastor in the Church of the Nazarene in 1989 and served as pastor for 46 years. He was currently serving as the senior pastor at Turning Point Church of the Nazarene in Garden City, Kansas.

He loved fishing, golfing, fireball candies, working in his workshop and driving his 34 Ford Coupe. His call to ministry was his life’s purpose. He never considered it a job. It was his life’s joy. More than anything, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Fields, his three children, Rachael Smith and husband, Barry, of Oak Ridge, Tenn., Matthew Fields, of Garden City, Kansas, and Joshua Fields and wife, Lindsey, and grandson Liam of Virginia Beach, Va; siblings Rodney Fields and wife Gayle, of Ashland, Ky., Teresa Thompson and husband, John, of Ironton, Ohio, Myron Fields and wife, Missy, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, Denice Hardwick and husband, Jacob, of Clinton, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim will be terribly missed by family and friends. However, we take comfort in knowing he is with our Lord. It is especially sweet to know that he is celebrating the Savior’s birth with the Savior this Christmas.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dece. 28, 2019 at Turning Point Church of the Nazarene. Services will be officiated by Pastor Jim Bond, Kansas district superintendent. Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with family present at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
