LAKIN - Pete Ramos, age 68, died on Dec. 15, 2019 at Kearny County Hospital in Lakin. He was born on April 26, 1951 at Lakin the son of Jose & Jiennie Hernandez Ramos. He married Lorraine Baker in 1988 at Marienthal.

Pete attended schools in Lakin and after graduating high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea. After his discharge in enrolled at Emporia State University. He returned to the area and lived in Garden City while working at the Post Office and later was named the Postmaster at Lakin. He retired with 32 years of service with the United States Post Office.

He is survived by his 3 Sons- Jay and wife Tonya Phipps of Garden City, Christopher and wife Alejandra Ramos of Meade, and Kelly and Berenise Santos Ramos of Lakin, 3 Brothers, Joe Ramos of Lakin, Tony and wife Donna Ramos and Robert and wife Tonda Tabor Ramos both of Garden City, 5 Sisters- Pauline Neff of Lakin, Christine Escalada and Josephine Gunter both of Garden City, Elva and husband John Escalada and Frances and husband Charles Gonzalez both of Wichita, 4 Grandchildren- Hannah Phipps and Hailey Phipps of Garden City and Kendrick and Jaxson Ramos of Meade, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Infant daughter, Ann Marie Ramos and 4 siblings; Frances Ramos, Reuben Ramos, Pedro Ramos and Mary Perez.

A joint Vigil Service with his Sister Mary Perez will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday and Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at St Anthony Catholic Church with Rev Peter Tran as Celebrant. Burial will be in Lakin Cemetery with military honors by United States Air Force Honor Guard and American Legion District 8 Honor Guard.
