SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Cherilyn K. Perryman, 74, passed away November 21, 2019, on the Feast of the Presentation of Mary, in Dallas, Texas after an extended hospital stay.
Ever the gracious wife, mother, and teacher, she was the ‘hostesse with the mostesse’. Demonstrating quiet strength, humility, and grace, she bravely bore the loss of her husband, Dennis, in 2018 and her eldest daughter, Wendy, in 2014.
Having spent most of her childhood in Wyoming and spending the last few cherished years back in Wyoming, she had a fondness for the mountains, scenery, and wildlife. Cherie spent most of her career teaching college math at Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas. She had a true love of teaching individuals her gift of math. Other career stops included Dawson Community College, South Plains College, and Jennie Barker Elementary before retiring from Garden City Community College.
Her great joys in life were spending time with family, her children, her grandchildren, and cooking for households of people that her husband and kids invited over. She was always a trooper from honeymooning on a ‘fishing-camp trip’, joining her husband for a move to the Middle East for his career, and caring for her daughter, Wendy, for the last six years of her life. She ventured near and far for what she held dear…. Witty, child-like, endearing, and kind, she clung to what was most important in life.
She will be greatly missed.
