JOHNSON - Betty Lou Parks, age 92, of Johnson, KS, died Nov. 30, 2019, at Stanton County Long Term Care Unit in Johnson. She was born May 16, 1927, in Rocky Ford, CO, the daughter of Clayton Raymond and Mary Ruth (Westfall) Lane.

Betty grew up in Rocky Ford and attended school there. She moved to Denver in 1954, she worked at Russell Stover making candy. Betty married Richard E. Parks on Dec. 9, 1972, in Elko, Nevada. In 1992, she moved to Hugoton where she made her home until 2013 when she moved to Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Robert Kirkland of Denver, CO, Loyd Kirkland of Manter, KS, Raymond Kirkland of Denver, CO, Anita Stidham of Denver, CO, Clayton Parks of Manter, KS, Pamela Kay Addelman of Table Rock, Nebraska, Ruby May Parks of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, in 2012; and children, Howard Parks, Nancy Richards, Teresa Tupper and Julie Collier.

Memorial graveside service will be Saturday, December 7, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Hugoton Cemetery in Hugoton, Kansas, with Erik Miradete officiating. Memorials may be given to COPD Foundation in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855. Condolences may be posted at
