September is Senior Center Month; the theme this year is “The Key to Aging Well”. We had a great turnout for Bingo last Thursday. A busload of a dozen or so seniors from Lakin / Kearny County Senior Center joined us. Our next Bingo opportunity is Thursday, 9/19 at 5:30 p.m. and then on Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m. We also have lots of special events and activities going on this month. The next week is very busy: we go to Boot Hill Casino & Museum on Friday, Sept. 13; and next Tuesday, Sept. 17, Johnetta Hebrlee is here at 12:45 p.m. to teach us more about the history of Finney County; Tuesday evening we have about 20 of us are traveling to Ulysses for the Grant County Home Products Dinner; and the Mayor will be here on the 18th for a proclamation and a balloon release at 12:45, celebrating the Senior Center of Finney County. Our trips are full, but we usually do have cancellations. Call Della at 272-3620 and we will get you on the cancellation list.
Medicareus at 272-3620 on Oct. 1 or after to schedule your Medicare enrollment appointment. The Medicare open enrollment period this year is Oct. 15 - Dec. 7. You can change your health coverage and add, drop, or change your drug coverage during this period.
