In honor of National Stroke Awareness Month, St. Catherine Hospital and the Senior Center of Finney County will present a lunch and learn seminar Thursday on stoke symptoms and recovery, presented by the hospital's stroke coordinator Whitney Weber.
The seminar will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Senior Center, 907 N. 10th St. Weber will go over how to spot stroke symptoms, warning signs and life after a stroke. When a stroke occurs, every minute counts and the faster treatment begins the better the chance of a successful recovery.
Lunch and learns are presented every third Thursday at the Senior Center to cover important topics concerning senior health.
St. Catherine is a Primary Stroke Center certified by the Joint Commission and has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Quality Achievement Award, which recognizes the hospital’s commitment and success ensuring that stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.
