This week, let’s take a look at some upcoming plans and some new possibilities for those coming to the Senior Center of Finney County. We always welcome new visitors and would like to welcome back those of you who may not have been here recently.
Changes and possibilities
Patti Thummel is pursuing an afternoon at the Sequoyah Cinema 9 in May. We are planning a matinee to see the movie POMS. POMS is a comedy about a group of women who form a cheer leading squad at their retirement community, proving that you are never too old to “bring it.” POMS stars Diane Keaton and Rhea Perlman. Our tentative plans include taking a mini bus from the senior center to the theater and then returning everyone to the senior center after the movie. If you are interested in joining us, please call Patti at 276-3620 to sign up.
We are also looking at putting together an evening of card games — pitch, pinochle, canasta. We would like to identify a night of the week that would work best for you. We know it will not be on Wednesday. We are also open to having other games going on the same evening. Adult players of all ages would be welcome. Our own version of a family game night!
We are narrowing in on a date to travel to the casino in Dodge City. Let us know if you are interested. We should have a specific day lined up very soon. We are looking forward to a fishing and picnic trip to Scott Lake and then a day trip to the Stauth Museum in Montezuma this summer.
We hope to see both familiar and new faces in our upcoming adventures.
