Garden City USD 457 will hold K-6 enrollment for the 2019-20 school year from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Students enrolling for the first time must bring immunization records, birth certificate, parent photo ID and proof of address. The district's immunization policy follows the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s requirements for school entry. Parents with questions should contact their school nurse.

Students must be enrolled in their neighborhood school, according to school boundaries, even if the child has attended another school. Students enrolling on or before Thursday will have priority for space.

Children who turn 5 on or before Aug. 31 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten. Parents need to bring their incoming kindergarten student with them to enrollment so staff can assess the child’s academic growth. The screening will take approximately an hour.

Students new to the district must enroll at the Educational Support Center, 1205 Fleming St.

Textbook rental fees are $32 for fifth and sixth grade, $30 for third and fourth and $25 for kindergarten through second. There will also be an additional $15 technology fee for third- and fourth-graders and a $30 technology fee for fifth- and sixth-graders.

For more information, contact your child’s school.
