The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism will offer a free hunter education and safety class at Garden City Community College next weekend.
The class will begin at 9 a.m. April 20 at the GCCC Academic Building Lecture Hall, break for lunch and meet again at the Garden City Trap and Skeet Club for an outdoor portion, which includes shotgun and archery practice. Participants must be at least 11 years old and should register ahead of time at http://www.safehunters.com.
Those who complete the course will earn a Hunter Education Certificate, which is required in order to purchase a hunting license.
