Communities in Schools will host “FutureNow: Finance” for all Garden City High School freshmen on Thursday and Friday at GCHS.
The financial literacy simulation is designed to help students understand some of the challenges involved in preparing for an employable future and provides students the opportunity to learn about the choices they will make as an adult.
Students will be provided a lifestyle scenario that will include marital status, number of children, occupation and net monthly income. The students will then visit a variety of booths to purchase housing, transportation, communication services, child care, food, utilities and insurance. They also will have the opportunity to save money, give to charity, and learn about unexpected things that can affect daily life.
