GCCC Dinner Theatre

What: Garden City Community College’s “College Players” will present the dinner theatre show “Deathtrap," giving guests an on-stage dinner alongside an interactive two-act thriller-comedy performance. The dinner includes a chocolate cake dessert.

When: 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday

GCHS musical

What: The Garden City High School drama department will present the musical Evita, which charts the young and ambitious Eva Peron’s meteoric rise to sainthood. The production contains language and content that might not be appropriate for all audiences; parental guidance and discretion is suggested.

When: 7 p.m. Friday, 2:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday; 2:30 p.m. Sunday

Where: GCHS auditorium, 2720 Buffalo Way Blvd.

Cost: Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets may be purchased at www.gchsdrama.booktix.com or at the door on the night of the performance. The box office opens an hour prior to production, and cash, checks and credit/debit cards are accepted. 


Blushing Artiste

What: Come and have a glass of wine and light hors d’oeuvres while creating a painting that you can take home. Must be 21 or older.

Sunflower school

What: The Kansas Sunflower Commission, High Plains Sunflower Committee and K-State Research and Extension will host a sunflower production school in Garden City. The school will provide information about new innovations in sunflower production, planting, fertility, weed control and insect control.

What: Garden City Community College's Nursing and Allied Health departments are hosting a health care career fair.

Where: East gym of the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex at GCCC.


Dog show

What: The Garden City Kennel Club is hosting its 30th annual dog show, with show dogs from throughout the U.S. competing.

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Where: Finney County Exhibition Building, 209 W. Lake Ave.

First Friday Art Walk

What: The monthly First Friday Art Walk allows participants to come and go at each art stop.

Seventh St., with featured artist Irene Unruh; 4 to 6 p.m., Mercer Gallery at Garden City Community College, 801 Campus Drive, with featured artist Ron Michael; 5 to 7 p.m., Patrick Dugan's Coffee Shop, 301 N. Father/daughter dance

What: Victor Ornelas Elementary School will host a father/daughter dance for girls at the school and a male figure, such as their fathers, stepfather, grandfathers, uncles or brothers. Dessert and punch will be served.

Navajo Taco Dinner

What: The First Christian is hosting the 20th annual dinner, which will include Navajo tacos, homemade pie, coffee and iced tea. The event also will include a live auction.

What: Come to the Garden City Arts and explore new art making techniques with your child. Ages 5 and older.

St. Mary School fundraiser

What: St. Mary Catholic School will host its fourth annual “A Magical Night in New Orleans” will feature a social hour (cash bar), dinner, silent and live auction and a dance featuring the Ortiz Night Shift Band. All proceeds the school.

Sandsage Bison Range dinner

What: The Friends of the Sandsage Bison Range is hosting its annual dinner and silent auction

What: The eighth annual Garden City Telegram Bridal Show will feature a variety of vendors, door prizes and free samples.

Chili supper/bake sale

What: The Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Wheatlands Aerie 3124 is hosting a chili supper, bake sale and auction. The dinner will include chili, cornbread and drink or chili dog with drink (toppings are available). Proceeds benefit the Max Bauer Heart Fund, Garden City Fire Dept CPR, and the Heart Center at St. Catherine Hospital.

When: 5:30 p.m. Sunday; 50/50 drawing and silent auction start at 5:30 p.m.; baked goods will be presented for auction at 6:30 p.m.
