The Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Stevens County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 34-year-old Moscow man in connection with the death of a 2-year-old boy.
According to a release from the KBI, at about 4 p.m. Tuesday, the sheriff’s office received a call concerning the welfare of a child residing at 2046 Road Y in Moscow. Deputies went to the residence and questioned the homeowner, 34-year-old Mikhail Lahey, Sr. They then discovered 2-year-old Mikhail Lahey Jr., deceased in the home.
The sheriff’s office requested the KBI's assistance, and KBI agents and the Crime Scene Response Team responded to investigate.
Agents detained and questioned Mikhail Lahey, Sr., at the home. At about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, he was arrested and lodged in the Stevens County jail on an allegation of first-degree murder.
