Blushing Artiste

What:  Come to Garden City for the Blushing Artiste class and have a glass of wine and light hors d’oeuvres while creating a painting that you can take home at the end of the night. Participants must be 21 or older.

When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday

Where: Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.

Cost: $35 for non-members or $30 for Garden City Arts members.

First Friday Food Truck

What: Head to Stevens Park for delicious food truck fare. Food trucks will be parked on Heroes Way south of Stevens Park.

When: 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: Stevens Park in downtown Garden City

 

Zombie Paintball

What: Paintball event with a zombie theme.

When: 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Where: The HorseThief Reservoir, 19005 Kansas Highway 156.

Art Walk

What: Garden City Arts' First Friday Art Walk. This month, featured artists are Hannah Lindo and Robin Waldron.

When: Hannah Lindo, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday; Robin Waldron, 5 to 7 p.m., Friday

Where: Lindo will be featured at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.; Waldron will be featured at Patrick Dugan's, 301 N. Main St.

 

Garden City Farmer’s Market

What: The farmer’s market features a variety of home-grown produce, hand-crafted items, homemade foods and Colorado fruits for sale.

When: 7 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: Parking lot of Westlake Ace Hardware, 1210 Fleming St.

 

Harvest Flea Market

What: Harvest Flea Market combines a farmers market and flea market experience, with 300 spaces for vendors offering food, furniture, artwork and more.

When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; the flea market dates run May through October.

Where: The west end of the Finney County Fairgrounds parking lot

Cost: $1

 

Leave a Legacy Run/Walk

What: Individuals and teams can win cash and prizes while honoring their loved ones in the Legacy 10K and Spirit 5K road races. Proceeds from the races fund the the Leave a Legacy Foundation's mission to improve cancer care in southwest Kansas.

When: 8:30 a.m. Saturday

Where: Heartland Cancer Center, 410 E. Spruce St.

Cost: $35 race fee; $3 sign-up fee.

 

Bracelets with Mom

What: Spend the afternoon making memories and learning basic jewelry making techniques with your child. Participants, ages 5 and older, will create their own beaded bracelet.

When: 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.,

Cost: $15 per pair ($10 for members).

 

Casino Night

What: Come out for an evening of dinner, drinks and gambling fun at the Leave a Legacy Foundation Hearts are Wild Casino Night, a fundraiser for the organization. You must be 21 to enter.

When: Doors open at 6:30 p.m., with gaming from 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: The Golf Club at Southwind.

Cost: Tickets are $50 each, and get you dinner, drinks and some faux gambling money. Tickets will be mailed and are required for entry.

 

Historical Society picnic

What: The Finney County Historical Society will hold a fall picnic, including food, live music and a donation drawing with cash and merchandise prizes. Attendees should bring a side dish, salad or desert to share. Fried chicken, drinks and table service will be provided. The Half Fast Singers will provide entertainment.

When: 1 p.m. Sunday

Where: Grandstand meeting room at the Finney County Fairgrounds.
