Salina police have arrested a Salina man on a warrant in connection with an incident that occurred at about 5:55 p.m. Oct. 15, according to Capt. Mike Sweeney.

An officer on patrol that afternoon noticed a sports-style motorcycle with illegal tags in the 700 block of South Fourth Street, Sweeney said. The officer tried to stop the driver in the 300 block of East Crawford Street.

The man, later identified as Devin Ronell Siebold, 33, continued at a normal speed, but then sped away in the 600 block of South Fourth Street, Sweeney said. When the driver turned north on Kenwood, the officer stopped the pursuit.

The officer continued patrolling in the area and saw the man run across a yard in the 600 block of Washington Street, Sweeney said. The officer lost sight of the man but found a black jacket with a .22-caliber handgun and a small amount of methamphetamine in the pockets.

Sweeney said Siebold was located and arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to manufacture, plant or cultivate; criminal possession of a weapon by a felon; distributing opiates, opium, narcotics or stimulants; driving with a suspended driver's license; not having a vehicle registration; not having a drug tax stamp for marijuana or a controlled substance; fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer by reckless driving; and reckless driving.

He remained in Saline County Jail on Friday.
