WICHITA — The Hutchinson Monarchs closed out the tournament 2-1 after a 10-0 win over the Texas Prospects in Wednesday’s late game and the final game of the first week of pool play.

The game was called in the sixth inning on the 10-run rule.

Dominic Robinson tossed a complete-game, one-hitter for Hutchinson, walking three and striking out 12.

Hutchinson jumped ahead in the third inning with a three-run inning. Dylan Nedved hit a two-run double and scored on a Taylor Barber single. Hutchinson added two more runs in the fifth inning on an error and a Nolan Hackel RBI single.

Hutchinson ended the game with five runs in the sixth inning. Nedved drove in run on a ground out. Ryan Stoecklein hit an RBI single. Ryan Metzger drove in a run with a ground out. With two runners on base, a wild pitch and error on the same play allowed two runs to score and end the game.

Hackel finished the game two for three hitting.

Austin Seidel took the loss for the Prospects, 1-2. Joshua Gustafson had the sole hit for the Prospects.
