Ribbon cutting

What: Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting for St. Catherine Hospital’s newly remodeled Emergency Department. The ribbon cutting and tour of the remodeled facilities will include a celebration of a name change to LifeSave Transport, formerly LifeTeam. There will be a lunch to follow.

When: 11 a.m. Thursday

Business After Hours

What: Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours for High Plains Public Radio, featuring appetizers, prize giveaways and live entertainment. Entertainers are Ruth Ellen Lynch, a jazz singer from Amarillo, Texas; and Stephen Johnson, a pianist from Garden City.

When: 5 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday

Where: High Plains Public Radio, 210 N. Seventh St.


Big Pool movie night

What: The Big Pool will host a free movie night, showing "Finding Dory". The pool will close at 5:45 p.m. on Friday for movie night setup, and will reopen at 7:30 p.m. The pool will close as soon as the movie is over.

When: When it gets dark enough, around 8:30 p.m., Friday

Where: The Big Pool, 504 E Maple St.


Garden City Farmers Market

What: Farmer's Market, featuring a variety of home-grown produce, hand-crafted items, homemade foods and Colorado fruits for sale.

When: 7 a.m. to noon Saturday

Where: Parking lot of Westlake Ace Hardware, 1210 Fleming St.


Harvest Flea Market

What: Harvest Flea Market combines a farmers market and flea market experience, with 300 spaces for vendors offering food, furniture, artwork and more.

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. The flea market dates run May through October.

Where: The west end of the Finney County Fairgrounds parking lot.

Admission: $1.


Stevens Park Concert Series

What: Sponsored by the City of Garden City and the Garden City Recreation Commission, the series presents free concerts each Saturday during the summer. This week, Russ and Debbie Tidwell will perform.

When: 6:30 p.m. Saturday

Where: Stevens Park bandshell.


YMCA event

What: The Garden City Family YMCA’s “Fourth of July Follies” Family Fun Night, featuring inflatables, carnival games, drawings, swimming, crafts, prizes, and complimentary hot dogs, chips and drinks, All area families are invited to attend, regardless of membership status.
