The Kansas Department of Transportation is urging drivers to be alert and cautious as crews continue their resurfacing project on Kansas Highway 96 in Wichita and Greeley counties.

The project is in progress in Wichita County through the west city limit of Tribune in Greeley County and has reduced the road to one lane guided by a pilot car. During working hours, there will be an approximate delay of 15 minutes in the area, and drivers should navigate slowly and be prepared to stop.

The $1.9 million project, which is expected to be completed in August, is contracted by APAC Shears of Hutchinson.

For more information on the project, call construction manager Craig Schlott at (620) 765-7096 or KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager Lisa Knoll at (620) 765-7080. Drivers can review all Kansas road construction projects at or by calling 511.
