The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded a boil water advisory for Towns Riverview subdivision in Finney County that originally was issued Feb. 9 because the water system there was not maintaining the minimum required chlorine residual, which can lead to bacterial contamination.

According to the KDHE, laboratory testing samples collected from Towns Riverview indicate no evidence of contamination, and all other conditions that placed the system at risk have been resolved.

The KDHE previously had urged Towns Riverview residents to take precautions until the advisory was rescinded.
