Garden City Lillian Mae Garetson, 105, passed away December 2, 2022 at The Cottages of Garden City. She was born on August 20, 1917 at Gray Center in Gray County, Kansas. She was the eldest child of Carl and Minnie Davis. After graduating from high school in Cimarron, Lillian attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. She worked for the Borth Insurance Agency of Copeland for 17 years. In 1939, she married Minor Garetson. They made their home in Copeland until she moved to Garden City in 2018. Lillian was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Atomera Club, and Good Sams Camping Club. Lillian is survived by one daughter, Deloris Bogart and husband Harold; grandchildren, Gary Bogart and wife Stacy, Bryan Bogart; great grandchildren, Roger Moore and wife Austin, Nicole Young and husband Josh, Robyn Bogart, Bradley, Garrett, Blake, and Connor Bogart, and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Minor; an infant daughter; sister, Doris Immroth; and three brothers, Cecil, Delbert, and Dale Davis. Funeral service will be held at Copeland United Methodist Church on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Doug Harris presiding. Burial will follow at the Copeland Cemetery. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Copeland Methodist Church, Copeland Senior Center, or the Copeland Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
