The Garden City Wind came up short on Sunday in a 14-5 loss to the Trinidad, Colo., Triggers in Pecos League action.

It left the Wind with a 1-1 short, weekend road trip to Colorado after a 9-7 victory on Saturday.

Trinidad jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second, and while the Wind produced four runs in the third (1) and fourth (3) innings, the Triggers matched it with two runs in each, but then tacked on another two in the bottom of the fifth.

Jean Carlos Peralta led off with a home run in the Wind’s fourth, and then two more runs came home on a Trinidad error. Eli Roundtree had an RBI single in the third.

Mike Rachun homered for the Wind in the top of the ninth, but by then the Triggers were safely in front.

The Wind return to Garden City Monday to begin a three-game homestand against Roswell, N.M., at 6:30 p.m. at Clint Lightner Stadium.
