Sherlock Strivers 4-H Club

By Secretary Andrea Brown

The Sherlock Strivers 4-H club met Sunday, July 7, at Holcomb Elementary. After roll call and officer reports, the club discussed old business. Under old business, the group reviewed last month’s community service project of collecting items for Ronald McDonald House and Magic’s H.O.P.E. Members were informed of the purchase of our new wheelbarrow and forks for the livestock projects at the fair. Tractor Supply of Dodge City was able to donate to this project.

For new business, livestock members were told about the Buyer’s meeting on Tuesday July 9. They will receive their packets at that time. Fair set-up will be July 13 in the Livestock Barn. Information about the Sheep & Goat Vet checks and weigh-in was given.

On July 11, there will be a planning meeting for the 4-H Olympics to be held during the fair. Anyone wanting to help with that is encouraged to attend.

Three members gave project talks covering rabbits, rockets and wood working.

Canned goods for the Emmaus House were turned in, July birthdays were celebrated and the meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting will be Sept. 1, 2019, at Holcomb Elementary.
