Jean Wildeman won high in the two tables of pinochle payed May 1, at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Ruth Dunlap took second place, and John Bunnell was third.

 

Senior Center double pinochle

Albert Spor won high in the two tables of double pinochle played Monday at the Senior Center of Finney County. Donna Preston took second place, and Bob Baker was third.

 

Senior Center pitch

Lynda Hazen won high in the four tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County. Jeannie Spor took second place, and Alva Burch and Rusty Farr tied for third place.

Ruth Dunlap won in the two tables of pinochle Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County. Jean Wildeman took second place, and Donna Preston was third.

Daughters of the American Revolution

The regular meeting of the William Wilson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met April 17 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village.

Bonnie Watts led the program about military life, "Been There, Done That."

Regent Dixie Drake called the meeting to order and welcomed members and visitors, who recited the DAR prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and the American's creed.

Drake reported the president's general message and national committee report on DAR schools, and Carley Hazelton gave the national defense report.

Members discussed volunteer hours and passed a motion to distribute five scholarships this year.

The next meeting will be at 1:30 p.m. May 15 at Garden Valley Retirement Village, where members will hear the program "Bent's New Fort," learn about historical preservation and hold a memorial service and officer installation.
