Senior Center pitch

Willard Riggs won high in the three tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. John Bunnell took second place, and Elvin Hazen was third.

Happy Hustlers 4-H Club

The January monthly meeting of the Happy Hustlers 4-H Club was held on Sunday, Jan. 6.

Fifteen members answered roll call, which asked about favorite snow activities. Leader Barb Goss mentioned upcoming events, including the Kansas Honor Flight on Saturday, Jan. 19. It was suggested, voted and approved for the club to donate $50 towards the Kansas Honor Flight. It has also been requested by the Honor Flight Committee that each 4-H family donates a dessert or an item for the bake sale.

Finney County 4-H Club Days was held on Saturday Feb. 2. The club discussed, voted and approved to participate in Club Days with a model meeting.

The February monthly meeting was held on Saturday, Feb. 2. The club presented the meeting as a model meeting for Finney County 4-H Club Days. Members discussed recruiting new 4-H members, deciding that a committee would be formed to come up with ideas to recruit new members.

Members Reyce and Cooper Meng spoke about caring for show cattle, and Grady and Grayson Gleason gave a demonstration on how to make bacon wrapped pretzels for a super bowl snack.

It was suggested, discussed and approved for the club’s 4-Her’s enrolled in the foods project to prepare a “Potato Bar” for the March monthly meeting.

The March meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.
