Senior Center pitch
Alva Burch won high in the four tables of pitch played Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Bob Baker took second, and Vi Frey was third.

Daughters of the Revolution
The Byrd Prewitt Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Jan. 1 at the Historic Adobe Museum in Ulysses.
Regent Lola Caraway chaired the meeting as the chapter finished up reports for National for 2018 and discussed internet access and identity theft.
The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Feb. 2 at the museum and will focus on the history and evolution of cookbooks. Those interested are welcome to join.

Happy Hustlers 4-H Club
The Happy Hustlers 4-H club met at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 4.
Roll call was “What are you thankful for?” and 12 members answered roll call.
Leader Barb Goss talked about the Finney County 4-H Foundation and how to join. Cooper Meng read the minutes of the October meeting, which were approved as read.
Goss reviewed upcoming dates for 4-H, including the Nov. 11 officer training and Nov. 18 achievement banquet.
Rayenah Bergstron held a presentation on veterans.
The club voted on its club project for 2019, which will be health.
The club also met on Dec. 9, the same day as the Garden City Downtown Christmas Parade. The theme was “The Polar Express,” and the club built a float and participated in the parade.
The Acorn Club recently met at Barbara Kough's home.
Members elected the following 2019 officers: Donna Christensen as president, Pat Mayo as vice president, Leah Martinek as treasurer and Jeanette Parks as secretary.
Kough led a presentation on the life of Harriet Tubman.
The next meeting will be at Ann Hotz's home.
