Daughters of the American Revolution
The regular meeting of the William Wilson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 17 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village.
Regent Dixie Drake called the meeting to order and welcomed members and guests Janet Schmidt, Marion Nolan and Britany Harris before the group recited the Pledge of Allegiance and the Americans Creed.
Drake reported the president's general message, and Carley Hazelton provided the national defense report and national committee report "membership." No bills were reported, but Hazelton said Cathaleen Cooper's brother and friends placed the DAR insignia on her gravestone.
Under old business, volunteer hours were reported and Drake presented a report on the fourth annual National DAR Day of Service genealogy workshop.
Under new business, Harris asked to become a member of the chapter through a transfer and Hazelton agreed to take charge of the matter.
